Alan Gray – Director

Hi I'm Alan, I have been an important part of Grayline Coaches for more than five decades. Born in October 1949, I moved to Bicester in 1960 and was educated at Grendon Underwood Primary School and Bicester Community College.

After leaving school at 17, I worked at Critchleys, the Bicester accountants, as an audit clerk until 1970. That same year, I passed my PSV driving test and joined the family business as a coach driver, while also assisting my mother with the financial side of the company.

I'm a keen sportsman and in my younger years, I played football and rugby at school and later represented Bicester RFC, until injury brought my rugby days to an end. These days, when time and health allow, I enjoy a round of golf, my other interests include DIY, gardening and travel.

I married Carol, a State Registered Nurse, in 1972, and we have two sons, Nick and Andrew. Nick lives in Canada and works in HR, while Andrew lives in Dorset and works in the decommissioning of nuclear power stations.

Today, I still undertakes a small amount of driving but mainly oversees the company's finances, continuing my long-standing commitment to the family business and its future.
